Our History

DABIS was founded in 1989 under the name DABIS Österreich GmbH, originally as a sister company to the then-DABIS Gesellschaft für Datenbank-InformationsSysteme mbH in Hamburg. From the very beginning, the company focused on developing library and archive software and implementing complex information systems.

With the founding of its current sole parent company, DABIS GmbH, the company has grown into a leading provider of innovative software solutions for libraries, archives, and documentation centers in Central Europe. Numerous successful network installations of BIS-C PLUS (formerly BIS-C 2000) in Austria, Germany, and Italy attest to our expertise.

International Collaborations:

From the very beginning, DABIS has recognized the value of exchanging experiences at the European and international levels. In doing so, the company has worked closely with partners in areas such as:
