The world of libraries, archives, and documentation is diverse and constantly demands new requirements for software solutions. With BIS-C PLUS we offer a platform that is modular, flexible and standard-compliant and meets the individual needs of single libraries, branches and virtual netwirked libraries equally.
Our open architecture enables the integration into existing IT landscapes through common standard interfaces such as ISO/OSI/GNU, TCP/IP, OSF, X/Open according to XPG3 or IEEE Posix, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, XML, and OAI (OAI-PMH).
Additionally, BIS-C PLUS supports ISO 239.50 (Z39.50 "SR" and "U") as well as derivatives like YAZ SOAP, thereby ensuring the reliable data exchange with partners and library networks.
Freely configurable database system
BIS-C PLUS is based on a freely configurable database system (SDBMS), on which the modular system components are built.
We place special emphasis on allowing tables, parameters and workflows to be configured by the users themselves. This allows complex library and archival processes to be efficiently managed while simultaneously considering the individual requirements of each institution.
