Open interfaces and standard compliance
The library, archive, and documentation world is diverse and constantly demands new requirements for software solutions. With BIS-C PLUS we offer a library management system that is modular, flexible, and standard-compliant and meets the needs of individual libraries, branches, and virtual network libraries equally.
Our open architecture allows for the integration into existing IT landscapes via common standard interfaces such as ISO/OSI/GNU, TCP/IP, OSF, X/Open to XPG3 or IEEE Posix, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, XML, and OAI (OAI-PMH).
Additionally, BIS-C PLUS supports ISO 239.50 (Z39.50 "SR" and "U") as well as derivatives like YAZ SOAP, ensuring the reliable data exchange with partners and networks.

Freely generated database system
BIS-C PLUS is based on a freely generable database system (SDBMS) on which the modular system components are built.
We place special emphasis on the fact that tables, parameters, and workflows can be configured by the users themselves. This allows for the efficient management of complex library and archival processes while also taking into account the individual requirements of each institution.
Seamless data integration
BIS-C PLUS enables the seamless acquisition of data from online and offline sources, from networks to traditional media catalogs such as:
VLB, Directory of Available Books
DNB, German National Bibliography
BIP, Books in Print
BNI, Italian National Bibliography
Also, standard data such as that of the OeNDV, integrated with the data from the German National Library, is available in real-time. This ensures a professional, up-to-date, and consistent data foundation is guaranteed.
Broad standard support
BIS-C PLUSsupports all relevant exchange formats and regulations:
MAB‑1/90 & MAB‑2
MARC21 (including US and country-specific variants)
XML and JSON
OAI, DC, METS/Mods
RAK (Rules for Alphabetical Cataloging)
RDA (Resource Description and Access, Scenario 1 and 2)
