Integrate stocks directly into the BVÖ online catalog
In collaboration with the Vienna Chamber of Commerce – Fashion and Clothing Technology an interface was developed that enables the automated export of data from BIS-C PLUS to the online catalog of the Austrian Library Association (BVÖ). The BVÖ serves as a central platform for public libraries in Austria and provides a shared online access to their catalogs.
The goal of the project was to fully automate the transfer of bibliographic data from BIS-C PLUS. For this purpose, a proprietary solution was developed, which directly processes the export files and automatically transfers them into the format required by the BVÖ. This eliminates any manual upload and the integration of media stocks into the networking catalog is done reliably and time-saving.
This project demonstrates how BIS-C PLUS supports the operation of modern libraries through flexible interfaces and automated processes and significantly easing data maintenance.
